I am a psychotherapist and yoga therapist in private practice in Austin, Texas. I enjoy working with parents, teens, emerging adults, and with women at all phases of life.
I provide psychotherapy for adolescents, adults and couples who are seeking to address depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship problems, divorce, ADHD, repeating unhealthy patterns, difficulties in work, addictions, chronic feelings of guilt or inferiority (i.e. never feeling "good enough"), fertility struggles, adoption issues or recovery from a difficult childhood. I have a collaborative approach to therapy and see it as a partnership in which I can educate, support, encourage, and guide clients to improve their lives. I believe in digging deep to get to the roots of problems so that we can make lasting change. I have training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, PACT, attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology. Even after 20+ years of being a therapist I am in awe of what it can do. I have literally seen people transform themselves and their relationships in ways they never thought possible. To me it is the best job in the world!
I love the aesthetics of self-expression, and I find beauty and life-giving inspiration in smears of paint, scraps of color, a well-composed photograph, and the written word.
I am fluent in Portuguese, Spanish. Since 1985, providing Conversation Therapy at Health Care Institutions, currently in Private Practice with Adults with a Relational Approach.
I focus on interpersonal neurobiology. IFS model gives me deep resources for anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, and relationships with others, and with ourselves.
